Supply List
September 2014
PLEASE assure your child that substitutions for all these items are fine.
Please don't go from store to store searching for anything. Common
sense will see us all through. If, for example, you can't find a "five
subject" notebook, two "three subject" notebooks will do just fine.1.SMALL three-ring binder--1.5 inches wide is large enough. (Please, no big trapper-keeper zip binders. These take up the entire desk and papers, books, etc. end up on the floor. We don't use the binder often.)
2. Notebook paper: college or wide-ruled.
3. Subject dividers
4. Ruler
5. Protractor
6. Assortment of pens & pencils
7. One "Five Subject" notebook, or two "Three Subject" notebooks.
8. Graph paper for math. (If you purchase a notebook with graph paper, please buy perforated paper. Students turn in math daily; they will need to get the page out of the notebook.)
9. Glue sticks
10. Facial tissue
11. Disinfecting wipes--used to clean desktops.
12. One ream of copy paper
13. Inexpensive compass for geometry
Optional items
1. The school supplies a calculator. However, many students prefer using their own. Texas Instruments Explorer Plus or TI-30X IIS are excellent.
2. Colored pencils/markers. Shelton View supplies crayons, so these are not necessary.
3. Do you have a child who frequently forgets to put his/her name on work? If so, you might consider purchasing a name "stamp." In a very short time, your child could stamp his/her name at the top of notebook paper and notebooks. The stamp could then be safely tucked away and used again next year.
